Neil Chesen, M.D.
Dr. Neil Chesen, a board certified Ophthalmologist, has been in private practice in the Reading area for 20 years. He has personally performed thousands of laser vision correction procedures as well as thousands of eye surgeries for other medical conditions such as cataracts. He is also board certified in Internal Medicine, one of only 40 physicians in the country with this double board certification.
Dr. Chesen received his undergraduate degree from Lafayette College and his doctor of medicine degree from Jefferson Medical College. Dr. Chesen completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Albert Einstein Medical College in Philadelphia. His residency in Ophthalmology was completed at Nassau County Medical Center in East Meadow, New York.
Heidi L. Sensenig, OD
Dr. Sensenig earned a B.S. in Occupational Therapy from Elizabethtown College, graduating Cum Laude. She earned the Hershey Medical Center Neuro-Rehabilitation Teamwork Award during her tenure as an OT.
After practicing as an Occupational Therapist for several years, Dr. Sensenig went on to earn her B.S. in Visual Science, M.S. in Low Vision Rehabilitation and O.D. degrees from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in Philadelphia. She graduated with highest honors.
Dr. Sensenig has expertise in providing primary eye care, pediatric eye care, low vision rehabilitation and special interest in neuro-ophthalmic and binocular vision disorders.
Karen L. Heaney, O.D.
Dr. Heaney earned a Bachelor of Science degree in General Science Magna Cum Laude from Alvernia College. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Visual Science and her Doctor of Optometry degrees from Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in Philadelphia.
Dr. Heaney provides primary eye care to patients of all ages and is nationally Board Certified to diagnose and treat ocular diseases. She enjoys prescribing contact lenses and welcomes challenging cases requiring complex lens materials and designs.
Dr. Heaney is a member of the medical staff at St. Joseph Medical Center.
