Neil Chesen, M.D.
Dr. Neil Chesen, a board certified ophthalmologist, has been in private practice in the Reading area for 17 years. He has personally performed thousands of laser vision correction procedures as well as thousands of eye surgeries for other medical conditions such as cataracts. He is also board certified in Internal Medicine, one of only 40 physicians in the country with this double board certification.
Dr. Chesen received his undergraduate degree from Lafayette College and his doctor of medicine degree from Jefferson Medical College. Dr. Chesen completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Albert Einstein Medical College in Philadelphia. His residency in Ophthalmology was completed at Nassau County Medical Center in East Meadow, New York.
Martin Simmons, O.D.
Dr. Simmons joined Chesen Laser Eye Center in 2006. He has been a Doctor of Optometry for the past 26 years with special interests in refractive surgery, specialty contact lenses, and medical treatment of the eyes. He is fully licensed for therapeutic and glaucoma treatment. Dr. Simmons is a 1981 graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry. He completed his bachelor's degree from Edinboro University in 1977.
In private practice for 23 years in the Erie, PA area, Dr. Simmons is a member of The American Optometric Association and The Pennsylvania Optometric Association. He presently serves on the Edinboro University Alumni Board. He and his wife Sue (Paulson) Simmons have 3 children ages 22, 20, and 17.
